Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using philter.io (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

philter is a capture-to-action platform that helps knowledge workers extract decisions, actions, and deliverables from notes, meetings, and messages. The Service includes AI-powered extraction, calendar integration, notification delivery, and collaboration features.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You may not share your account or use another person’s account without permission.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you provide to the Service (notes, transcripts, recordings, and other materials). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service’s features, including AI-powered extraction and analysis. We do not use your content to train AI models.

5. Connected Services

You may connect third-party services (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Slack, and others). You authorize us to access data from those services as permitted by the scopes you grant. You can disconnect any service at any time from Settings, which revokes our access. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications

7. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI to extract and summarize information from your content. AI outputs may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any decisions, actions, or deliverables before acting on them. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.

8. Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will provide reasonable notice of planned downtime when possible.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
